Latest Update Mindset Seminar for Coaches/Parents

At West Districts, 5th Feb

SASA West District is pleased to invite parents and coaches to a Mindset Workshop

that has been organised on Sunday of the Group 1 Championship.

“Mindset” is part of the selection criteria for the 2012 Squads.

The meeting IS NOT restricted to those attending the Championships, all interested parties are welcome.

Bag Packs Total

A big thank you to everyone who took part in our 2 bag packs on 22nd and 31st December. We raised the magnificent total of £3954.32 which is used to keep costs down, subsidise fees, swimmers night out etc. Well done to all concerned.

EKASC AGM

The Club AGM will take place on Wed 1st February 2012 at 7.00pm at the Ally McCoist Centre. A good turnout is requested.

Ian Fleming - West District President

Congratulations to one of our members, Ian Fleming, who was installed as West District President at the West District AGM on Sat 10th Dec. His first function was to attend the Club Presentation Disco. We hope he has a very enjoyable year in post and wish him every success. Janet Scott was re-elected as West District Secretary once again. It is great for the club to be so well represented at this level.

Club Gala - Presentation Disco

Club Gala - Thank You!

The Club Gala held on Sat 26th Novemeber was an outstanding success, with swimmers having the opportunity to take part in their club gala in their home pool for the first time since 2008. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of the gala. We were delighted to welcome Liz Stewart, the West District President as our guest referee, who it is always a pleasure to have along at the DAC.

49 Club

We now have 5 balls available in the 49 Club. Numbers 21,27,41,45,48 are ready to be taken by some new lucky participants. Payment is made by quarterly standing order of £13 and the winning number is the Saturday bonus ball and gets £20 each week. Please see Alison Greig or any committee member if interested.

National Programmes

Congratulations to Douglas and Corrie Scott who have been selected for the Scottish Senior Squad and Kim Figgins who has been selected for the Scottish Youth Development Squad.

District Regional Programme

Congratulations to the EK swimmers who have qualified for the DRP 2011 - 2012. This year we have 9 swimmers who have qualified, Bethany Brodie, Olivia Jackson, Lisa Currie, Mrg Finnon, Bobbi-Jane Greig, Ross McPherson, Rachel Saxon, Megan Smith and Cameron Park. Well done to all swimmers. Lynn Currie has been appointed as Team Manager to one of the squads and Derek McGown has been named as Assistant Coach to one of the Level 2 Squads. EK are looking for helpers from among the parents to attend the training days and assist with timing and record keeping. Please contact Lynn Currie for further details.

Notice for all Judges, Timekeepers and Helpers

The current Child Protection Policy within our Club dictates that all persons acting in the above capacities have at the very least completed a Self declaration Form in relation to their volunteer role.  As the new racing season approaches can I ask that all persons currently acting in the above capacity or intending on taking up such a role who have not completed the above form or a DISCLOSURE form contact either Paul Saxon or Claire Johnston our Club Child Protection Officers in order that we can maintain our policy.

To raise funds for the club all you do is register on the website stating the club you wish to support, login and shop online using the links to all your favourite retailers with up to 15% going to the club funds. Urgent Need for Judges

As part of the clubs ongoing development we need to increase the number of judges in the club as we can rack up large fines if we do not meet our quotas at meets. If anyone is interested in finding out more about the Level 1 Judge course please contact Lynn Currie on 07971609874.

Football Cards

Football cards are now available from Sandra Thomson to raise funds for the club. Participation in this fundraiser is purely voluntary and is suited to those who could sell in larger workplaces and by people with an extensive group of family or friends. If you are interested please email Sandra at sandra.thomson@blueyonder.co.uk Cards will also be available at all forthcoming swim events from David or Sandra Thomson.

With the closure of the Dollan Aqua Centre, the club no longer has a physical notice board for competition and other announcements. Competition entries will now happen via this website. If you have not yet received your personal log in please contact your coach.
